Hesta Prynn Free Gig at The Studio: February 27
A few weeks ago, I dropped a little doozy of a tune in my morning roundup. The response to Hesta Prynn's Can We Go Wrong was fairly amazing, whenceforth, I decided to flesh out a fuller feature on the former Northern State member.
After playing Pianos last month, Hesta Prynn gives fans another chance to get a taste of what to expect from her upcoming record.
Formerly of the hip-hop group Northern State, Hesta Prynn is putting the final touches on her first solo album, due out later this year. Produced by Chuck Brody (Lykke Li, J.Lo, Ra Ra Riot and Wu Tang Clan) with help from Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara, and Eric Gardner (Gnarls Barkley) providing drums, Hesta’s new record pits euphoric beats and distorted bass lines with punkish guitar overlays to create and energetic, edgy sound.
Prynn plays The Studio at Webster Hall on Saturday, February 27. The 19+ show starts at 8pm and it's free with your RSVP here.
