Sia - Bring Night

Everyone needs a current song to crush on, and if you don't have one at the moment, then I'm offering up mine for you to partake in. Previously having featured 6 new Sia tracks, all of which you can stream on her official site, this one in particular has been played a grotesque amount of times in thine fair Beastonia. And when I say grotesque, I mean that in the most 100% complimentary way possible.

Siabringnight

Produced by the mighty hand of Greg Kurstin, Sia's Bring Night is a gem of an arrangement. Highlighting her signature vocal inflections with a quirky 50s girl group meets modern pop undertone, there's simply no denying the catchiness of this cut.

We're particularly fond of the "oooh oh oh oh's"...and well, basically everything else about this smashing tune. Get ready to obsess.

Sia's We Are Born is out June 8.

Goldfrapp Announce New US Tour Dates

Coming off last week's release of their glitterpop album, Head First, British electonica duo, Goldfrapp, have finally added a handful of North American dates in addition to a previously announced late June gig in Los Angeles. This makes me happy, along with certain members of 2 other US cities. Everyone else, I'm sorry...but I'm not their tour manager. I just report the goods.

So are you one of the lucky few who will get to witness Goldfrapp in a live setting? If you've never caught them before, this is one show I'd suggest you get your tail to.

Here are the cities/dates. Tickets go on sale here next Friday, April 9.

M'Black - Heartbreak (Diamond Cut Remix)

If you know anything about this Beast, then you know that upon seeing the words Diamond, and Cut, and Remix in the same phrasing, that my knees immediately buckle, and the sweats begin, even before pressing play. So goes the case with the latest in our round of limb-weakeners, with Diamond Cut's remix of M'Black's Heartbreak. It hurts so good.

Mblack

So what more do you need to know...because you can guarantee this ish is the hotness per the above para-radness. Well, M'Black is Matt Schwartz, double known as Dada or The Drill, who has been producing records since 1995. He's got a great ear for the club bangers, and this slice is no different.

And then, of course, Diamond Cut gussies up the song to the point where we can't stop smiling. Grab it below, and consequently, please spin and grin with me.

I'm also bonus dosing you with more DC slickness. Because I can.

White Arrows - Coming or Going (RAC Remix)

**EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE**

Last year, I made virtual "nice nice" with a rad band from a troupe of LA-based characters known as White Arrows. Then I hopped out to sunny CA for a much needed vacation and hung with front-man Mickey, and blah blah blah, we're pals and all that good stuff. So when he says he's got a rad new remix of one of my favorite cuts of theirs, boy, do we ever listen.

Whitearrowsrac

The latest and greatest in the WA-set throws an original into the hands of one of our favorite dudes in RAC. Most recently, we've been in 100% swoon mode for his take on Penguin Prison's The Worse it Gets, but they say variety is the spice of life. That said, we've got a new mix to shuffle up our playlist a bit.

Coming or Going is the quintessential White Arrows track...a mix of pure rock and sandy, sunny good vibes. What RAC decides to do with the song, however, is take the tune from beach laying to booty shaking by tossing in a wiggle-worthy beat and twinkling electrobits.

We're debuting the mix here...but if you want to grab it elsewhere, get it over at White Arrows' bandcamp page. Either way, we all win.

Erik Hassle: A Passionate Pop Beast Among Boys

It's no secret that our crush on Erik Hassle continues to develop at a monumental pace. Ever since first laying ears (and eyes....oh that hair!) on his luscious arrangements and unique vocals, it's been a storm of Swedish songs flooding our every listening experience. And rightfully so. The 21-year old has a bona-fide bangin' debut album and the schooling chops to keep listeners' piqued with his every move.

Sitting and talking with the lanky singer is a treat that goes far beyond throwing on his album and losing yourself in his modern melodies. Hassle's got a lot to say and he's not afraid to spill on his earliest and most unique music situations, along with how to be a successful pop star. Let's get to the good stuff!

SB: Erik, welcome to New York City! How long will you be in the states?
EH:
This time I’m here for two weeks, but I’ll be coming back here in April

SB: Very cool!  So, if you just want to start talking about how you got in music, because you’re a young kid, but the buzz around you has been so huge and everyone’s so excited to hear what you’re going to do next. That said, growing up in the very late 80s and early 90s, what influences did you have?
EH: I grew up in a really small village 2 hours south of Stockholm, and my hippie parents – Im the youngest and I’ve got 4 siblings – I was their late kid. They were getting older and not as wild as they used to be, and we bought a house south of Stockholm in a little small village, and they decided to build a venue in our garden with the idea to invite their friends who are musicians, my parents were a bit into that business, to come there and perform for the village.

SB: Oh, that’s kind of bad ass!
EH:  It was, because it became really hardcore quite fast. The people from the village came to our garden and had a picnic and got really drunk and started having sex in the toilets

Janelle Monae - Tightrope (new video!)

Little known fact: Janelle Monae was probably somewhere between the 3rd to 7th artist I ever chose to feature back when I started the site. With a dose of Motown and a splash of other-worldly awesomeness, the Grammy-nominated singer has deservedly found herself a spot in Beastonia many a time before. And today, we roll on with our favorite ArchAndroid and her new video.

Janellemonae

Monae's debut EPs, which came in the shape and titles of various Metropolis: Chases, were a mix of futuristic retro radness, with the ever-stylish gal donning the moniker of Cindi Mayweather, the album's protagonistic maven.

Now, with the May 18 release of her freshman full-length, fittingly dubbed The Arch Android, Janelle jumps back in time to hit us with an outerspacey ride of a wild time. She's collaborated with Big Boi on lead single, Tightrope, and she's just released the visuals to the dancey feel-good vibes of the album cut.

Watch her get tip-toe-ingly terrific in the video below.

Supermode - Tell Me Why (Redlight Remix)

If you still haven't jumped on board the Redlight express, then tighten your belts and get ready to rock because if I haven't been able to convince you so far that this dude is the legit truth, then let today be a lesson in the radness of his remix game. Holy sweatballs, let's go!

Redlightsupermode

Tell Me Why was a smashing house cut from 2006, produced by part of the "Swedish House Mafia" aka DJs Steve Angello and Axwell, under the alias Supermode. The original is actually a remix of two Bronski Beat songs from the album The Age of Consent, with music sampled from the song Smalltown Boy and lyrics, performed by Hal Ritson, taken from Why?.

Ok, now scrub all those details from your brain, and get ready to bounce your body thanks to Redlight's refreshing new mix of the track.

This is one of those cuts we like call "mega-repeatable". Get it!

Hercules and Love Affair Complete New Record

According to some late night/early morning tweets and blog posts from members of Hercules and Love Affair, we're treated to news that the NYC-based electro house troupe has completed work on their upcoming album. While other details still seem to be quite hush-hush, this bit of info alone is enough to make a beast like me grin all day long.

According to the band's official blog page, this is what the goings on entail...major yays!

Wait What: The Notorious xx (free mashup album)

This seems almost like an inevitable production, right? After last year's Quix and Elliot "Biggie vs Tupac vs The xx" discovery, I suppose it was only a matter of time before some soul went and ingested the licks of the greatest rapper ever while simultaneously eating up The xx's entire debut album, only to pour out a full mashup album of the pair. Oh hello, Wait What, let's see what you have in store.

Waitwhatbiggiethexx

San Francisco producer, Wait What, pumps out a minimialistic mash session between The xx's entire self-titled debut album with a handful of the best of Biggie tracks. While it's no "omg whoa!" product like The Grey Album, the set, in it's entirety, is a smooth listening trek that soothes and spins like some sort of eccentric ingenuity.

Many kids got psyched for the Biggie vs Miley mash of '09, but if you're looking for something tamer, and in this beastly opinion, much easier to digest, I suggest giving any of these tracks a go. The Notorious xx is available as a full free album download here.

Stream it right underneath this sentence...or grab two of our favorite cuts from this mashed mix below.

This is the first in a new series of DJ mixes from the dudes. Watch out for upcoming installments, which will include more brand new PJU remixes of artists such as Miami Horror and We Have Band.
