2010 Martin Luther King Jr. Concert Series Lineup Announced
So much good music news to share today. A lot in the vein of summer concert series lineups being announced, and hey, we're all for that, especially when they come in the form of free and friggin' amazing. The latest set I've got my eye on is the Martin Luther King Jr. Concert Series which takes place in Brooklyn.
The 28th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Concert Series performances will be held Monday nights (7:30pm) at Wingate Field, which is located on Brooklyn Avenue between Rutland Road and Winthrop Street opposite Kings County Hospital. Shows run from July 12 through August 23.
Your performers (and might I add, some really really great ones) for the free series are...
July 12George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic // The Ohio Players
July 19
An Evening with Toni Braxton
July 26
Musiq Soulchild // Crisette Michele
August 2
Salt-N-Pepa // Naughty By Nature // Slick Rick
August 9
An Evening with Aretha Franklin
August 16
Gospel Night
Bebe & Cece Winans // Fred Hammond
August 23
Sean Paul // The Mighty Sparrow
mp3: Toni Braxton - Make My Heart (Chris Malinchak Indigo Mix)
Ooh, I can't wait for June! It's pretty early for them to announce this year's lineup of performers, so I would have to wait a couple months more. As early as now, I'm gonna save money to pay for a plane ticket to see my favorite artists perform for MLK! I hope it will be as amazing as last year.
