Monarchy: New Single, Remix, Official Video and Highlights from Debut Live Show (which was the 1st to be broadcast into space!)

After quite the lengthy post title as above, seems like there's really no need for more words to be spewn in praise of Monarchy and all that they've been up to as of late. However, I've been waiting for a good chock of days to finally get all the info needed here to properly write this up...so blam blam blam...and away we go!

Last week, as part of the Strangers in Stereo blog collective (which I'm amped to be a part of since its inception) and our weekly feature "Now Playing", Monarchy took my top spot for most played artist/song thanks to Love Get Out Of My Way, and its respective remixes, which will see an official release on August 30 (pre-order here). Mixes come from Sinden, Tim Goldsworthy, Holy Ghost!, Treasure Fingers and Benny Benassi. The TG Dub is free to download below and you can hear the Benny treatment here. Rest assure, the remaining fixes are equally awesome, but being the obedient (and selfish) beast that I am, both cannot and will not post.

Additionally, the official video for LGOOMY has been released. Watch it below. But then don't stray too far, cause I'm writing more stuff, so yeah...pay attention, please and thank you.

Before letting you run off and dance to their killer cuts, a most beastly piece of news action from the Monarchy mates needs to be dropped.  On Saturday, June 19, the lads held their debut live show, at the Kennedy Space Center, in Cape Canaveral, FL. The performance came in front of roughly twenty people, and was also the first live show to be broadcast into space. Neato!

You can watch a mini-documentary from the event below.

If you can't tell, I'm just a LITTLE bit excited for what these dudes have in store. Yep.

Benny Benassi, Kelis, Apl.de.ap and Jean Baptiste - Spaceship (Radio Rip)

Two thousand and ten. Otherwise known as the year of Kelis. No really...it is. This time, however, she's joined up with Italian DJ extraordinaire, Benny Benassi, to provide the vocals on his upcoming single, Spaceship. Let's get corny and just say it: this track is out of this world. Yep. Went there.

While we know that Benassi will release a new album this year, there is still no definiteive talk of an actual released date, album title or track list. What we do know, however, is that the first single will be Spaceship and features Kelis, Apl.de.ap and Jean Baptiste.

The BBC's Pete Tong debuted the track this weekend and we know that a music video for the song has already been shot

Oh, and we know that this slice of radness is totally rocking our bodies.

Agnes Showcases her Skills at Soho House

Last night, my pal Brad from MuuMuse invited me to tag along to a showcase from Swedish chanteuse, Agnes. The Idol 2005 winner, the Scandinavian country's equivalent to our own American Idol, sauntered on stage wearing a sparkling smock and chatted up the crowd a bit before she let the vocals soar.

Due to a busy past week and even more hectic upcoming set of days, Agnes was only able to perform one song. Selecting her most notable smash, Release Me, the singer went acoustic with a solo guitar accompaniment/male backup vocalist.

From the one song sang, it's evident that Agnes has a striking live and recorded voice, worthy of the best eurohouse backing tracks. We'd have liked to see her perform another cut or two (frankly, we're fond of On and On), but hey, this beast does not pass up free music and food! Agnes' third studio album, Dance Love Pop, was released in 2008, and will see a proper Stateside release later this year. (more pictures can be viewed here)

Good music, great friends, and a solo dance party for one capped off the evening. (yes, 'twas me, duh)

Kelis and Maluca Announce NYC Performance

As if today's spectacular Spring weather isn't enough to slap a smile on your mug, then maybe this bit of news will help you out. Yeah? Yeah! Kelis, who's just released the video for lead single, Acapella, from upcoming album, Flesh Tone, is headed to downtown Manhattan later this month. Gentle suggestion: um, GO.

Yes, this is a full live show with Kelis, so hurrah and hooray, ya dig? Prior to her big tour in support of the singer's forthcoming fifth studio album, Kelis will hit Santos Party House on Wednesday April 21 for a night of hot hot heat. Our gal, Maluca, is on the bill to open, along with a few other "unannounced" guests.

Details below. Also, stay tuned for the official release of Benny Benassi's new single, Spaceship, which features Kelis' raw vocals. Preview here.
