Shakira (featuring Dizzee Rascal) - Loca (Freemasons Remix)

When Shakira sings "...and I'm crazy but you like it...", in the song Loca, it quickly becomes the one lyric or statement all year that I could not agree with more. I know I've said it many times in passing or postings that the singer is all sorts of batshit weird, which somehow humanizes her to the level that I think she and I would be really great friends, but it bears repeating that yeah, she's a little off, and further proof of that is this entire song, video, and now with a pretty sexy and grinding mix from Freemasons, we have even more time to revel in the ridiculous.

Loca Wars: Shakira and Dizzee Rascal vs Oliver Twizt and Maluca

Battle royale in the "oh hey we both named our songs Loca" arena! Well not really, but since these two pieces of heat are getting virally and virtually delivered around the same time, it just makes sense for me to contrive some sort of fake head-to-head butting. What a little shit-stirrer I am!

Loca wars

Shakira and Dizzee Rascal just released the video for the former's new single, Loca, and on October 12, Mad Decent mates, Oliver Twizt and Maluca will release a song of the same name. They so crazy! See what I did there?

So who do you got in this tag team Loca Showca Showdown?

Dizzee Rascal - Dirtee Disco (video and remix!)

This is by no means entirely new. This, by every means, however, is strictly rad to the max. Falling to the bottom of a "yeah, I'm going to get to that in a few minutes" pile of posts, Dizzee Rascal's latest jammer climbs its way back to the forefront of my cochlear pleasures this morning. Five words: DISCO DISCO DISCO DISCO DANCE!

Thanks to a re-release extended bonus edition of his 2009 album, Tongue'N'Cheek, Dizzee jumps back into Beastonia (he made my list of be[a]st albums last year!) with a cut that was left off the original offering. Dirtee Disco is all that and a bag of fun dancey chips.

Like what you hear? Buy the single now.

And now, the video. One love. One funky funky love.

Beastly Bits #43

We're back in the 3 hours of sleep per night mode...also known as "hey beast, get your butt ready for the Austin SXSW radness you're about to dive into this week" functioning state of mind. I am already thoroughly spent, yet 100% excited for the cool to unfurl.

Don't worry...you'll be taken care of throughout my absence. Check out the banner at the top of the page for more info. Also, updates will be provided here...(for lack of another better word) provided I find the time to get my Austin act together.

Had a conversation last week that Lady Gaga is on the fast track to a nervous breakdown or emotional meltdown due to her hectic tour and promo schedule. Lo and behold, the lass suffered a bout of stage exhaustion (?) at her weekend gig in New Zealand. Watch her lethargic performance of Bad Romance, in which the lady lays on the stage and barely makes it through the number. Yikes.

Bloc Party's Kele Okereke has revealed that he will be playing a solo show as part of this year's Ibiza Rocks gig series. The ProdigyFlorence And The MachineDizzee Rascal and The Courteeners are among the other acts set to play shows on the island at the summer fest. More info here.

DJ Z-Trip is headlining the Sahara tent (THE dance tent) Saturday night at Coachella, and we've got his mix of Chic's Le Freak ready to pump you up. Grab it a short scroll down.

Florence and The Machine - Brit Awards Recap

After an evening filled with golden gals, boy bands, big winners and sore losers, the Brit Awards culminated with the top honor, Best British Album, rightfully bestowed upon Florence and The Machine's remarkable debut album, Lungs

After failing to grab the award for British Breakthrough Act and British Female Solo Artist, all prior losses were quieted when it was announced that the night's top distinction fell in the lap of Flo and Co.

"I want to thank everyone who bought the album and everyone who liked it," said Florence Welch. "It's been an amazing night. We've had the best time and I hope you have, too."

Before the night's top award presentation took place, Florence was joined by fellow winner, Dizzee Rascal, for a duet - a mash up of her version of You Got The Love and his Dirtee Cash with harpists, a glitter storm and Florence emerging from a giant mirror ball. Watch the spectacular performance below.
