Roisin Murphy - Momma's Place (Speedy Graffiti Discobash '07 Remix)

Apparently, there is a Roisin Murphy remix contest going on...hosted by Indaba and the world's biggest petulant child of a gossip blogger. What makes our stance on it infinitely cooler is that rad dudes like Tempe, Arizona's Speedy Graffiti decide to send over their mixes so we can hear 'em and love 'em. Gossip bloggers...pssshhh.

In our beastly-opinion, Speedy's got a winner with his Discobash Remix of Momma's Place. All others be warned.

If you'd like to enter the contest, more information can be found here.

Also, David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's Imelda Marcos concept album, Here Lies Love, hits stores today. Roisin is one of the female vocalists featured on the disc, and her track, Don't You Agree, is mad slick. Buy the album here.

David Byrne, Fatboy Slim, Cyndi Lauper and Tori Amos - Why Dont You Love Me

The story of Imelda Marcos furthers on, with the help of David Byrne and Fatboy Slim. Much like their previous featured tracks from Here Lies Love, the gentlemanly-duo enlists some star-powered feminine vocals to emotionalize their material.

This newest feature pairs the remarkable voices of Tori Amos and Cyndi Lauper as they get funky over a super slick bass line that begs you to dance a la disco, even though the story behind the track bears much more significant weight.

Byrne explains: This song is sung in an imaginary duet between Imelda and Estrella, who have no contact with one another at this point. After the assassination of Aquino, one woman feels betrayed by her countrymen, and the other feels betrayed by her old friend and former charge. Here lies love.

David Byrne and Fatboy Slim (featuring Santigold) - Please Don't

Hotly-tipped to ignite a warm fire during these chilling winter months is the unique project between David Byrne and Fatboy Slim. Here Lies Love is upcoming concept album slated for release on February 23 about the life of the former First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos and her relationship with a servant from her childhood.

The album features 22 guest vocalists and will be released as a double-CD set with DVD and 100-page book. The entire compilation is set-up as a cycle of songs, with a prologue and four "acts".

Byrne says: “The story I am interested in is about asking what drives a powerful person—what makes them tick? How do they make and then remake themselves? I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be great if—as this piece would be principally composed of clubby dance music—one could experience it in a club setting? Could one bring a ‘story’ and a kind of theater to the disco? Was that possible? If so, wouldn’t that be amazing!” Scene structure is as follows: Prologue: "Here Lies Love" (feat. Florence Welch) Act I: "Flashback — Early Days" "Every Drop of Rain" (feat. Candie Payne & St. Vincent) "You'll Be Taken Care Of"(feat. Tori Amos) "The Rose of Tacloban" (feat. Martha Wainwright) "How Are You?" (feat. Nellie McKay) "A Perfect Hand" (feat. Steve Earle) "Eleven Days" (feat. Cyndi Lauper) Act II: "The Climb to Power" "Walk Like a Woman" (feat. Charmaine Clamor) "Don't You Agree?" (feat. Róisín Murphy) "Ladies in Blue" (feat. Theresa Andersson) "When She Passed By" (feat. Allison Moorer) "A Pretty Face" (feat. Camille) "The Whole Man" (feat. Kate Pierson) "American Troglodyte" "Dancing Together" (feat. Sharon Jones) Act III: "The Turning Point" "Men Will Do Anything" (feat. Alice Russell) "Never So Big" (feat. Sia) "Please Don't" (feat. Santigold) Act IV: "The Fall" "Solano Avenue" (feat. Nicole Atkins) "Seven Years" (feat. Shara Worden) "Order 1081" (feat.
