Fenech-Soler - Demons (Yuksek Remix)

Sometimes it's nice just to check in on buddy boy Yuksek, because every time we do, we somehow stumble across a piece of his pretty little pie that eventually, nay, almost immediately goes straight to the top of our currently most played tracks. And so goes the case today, with not one, but two, fine fixes; the first comes from an outfit we already hold dear, and the second bonus bumper, well, we're all gonna start learning about this lass...real hard.

The tight troupe of lads from Kings Cliffe, Fenech-Soler, have been hovering on tongues' tips for a solid set of time now, and since early 2009, they've released all of 3 official singles. 2011, however, sees them grab album cut, Demons, from their debut and toss it into the "on it's own output" arena. Well, with subsequent remixes, including one from the man we're heralding: Yuksek.

You can stream that after I ramble on wee bit more.

As your bonus beast-approved cut, gobble up the dude's fix of Anything Maria's Cook Him Up, which is a whole lot of words thrown together to form an artist name / song title that I have never heard of prior to earlier this week. Apparently AM is the next "it" one in France, or so sayeth these verbs and nouns: "Eclectique, polymorphe, la musique d'Anything MARIA s'oriente vers un songwriting POP, mutant et moderne, sans complexe ni frontière."

Admission: I cannot read or translate that, but I can spin this song and love it. Which I've already done a ton, including on this past week's Belly of the Beast on East Village Radio. Proof! Stick it through to the 2:52 mark when the soaring really starts to, well, soar.

Beastly Bits #103

This has been such a long week. Anyone else feeling the grind?

Thank the beastly heavens that it's Friday...don't know if I could have lasted one more workday in this hustle. What I can tolerate is the radness below. We ride!

Aussie entity, Triple J, chose their most loved artists. Do your faves make the cut? link

Arcade Fire's new album, The Suburbs, may be released with eight different covers. The Canadian group's third studio effort is due out on August 2. link

Fenech-Soler remixed Sunday Girl's cover of Laura Branigan's Self Control. It is both amazing and free for you to enjoy as well. Download it after I ramble on a bit more.

Read an interview with Big Boi. Love that dude so much. link

Today marks one year since the untimely passing of Michael Jackson. RIP forever.

Be[a]st Remixes (Robyn, Example, Marina, etc...)

Shit shit shit (in the be[a]st way possible)...I cannot keep up. Shocker. While I've been paying close mind to compiling the heartiest and meatiest posts with a butt ton of info, sometimes the occasional "this post is simply to toss you a really great mix" piece gets thrown into the lot. And today, if each mixer and submission had his/her way, then I would never stop typing. Thus...compilation time.

First up...an exclusive debut for ya! Example's latest single, Kickstarts, is set to be released on June 13. With it comes mixes from Afrojacks, Bar9, Wideboys and Fenech-Soler, the latter of which we are 100% approving as the raddest and ready to get on your summer playlists.

I may never post anything from Marina and the Diamonds again...because Clock Opera turns in one of the best fixes of anything you'll hear. Ever.

I'm still thoroughly enamored with Robyn's Dancing On My Own, along with the other tracks from Body Talk Pt 1 that found themselves out on the net. But if it's something slightly more mainstream dancefloor ready to get you grooving, then gobble up Chew Fu 's mix of the track. Oooh we like this one.

Buddy boy Redlight just blew my mind. Matching up Oliver Twizt with Daft Punk and Aretha Franklin, his mix of Another Step is something that can easily can go on repeat. And it shall.

Finally, GonZo is back with another mix and mash of the funkiest notions. Rihanna, meet Jocelyn Brown. Beasts, start dancing.

Fenech-Soler Playing Pianos NYC Tomorrow Night and New Remix!

Some of the biggest 2010 buzz belongs to the glam-psych rad rock of the UK's Fenech-Soler. After hooking up with Groove Armada, cranking out a handful of delicious demos and eventually their official singles, the Alan Braxe-discovered troupe is ready to take SXSW by storm...but not before they make their NYC debut on Monday March 15.

Fenech-Soler's debut single, Cult of Romance, was released via Braxe's Vulture Label in 2009, and Lies on Moda (UK) which won them plays with luminaries such as Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Eddie Temple Morris and collabos with Alex Metric and Tom Starr. As mentioned, the band recently collaborated with Groove Armada on their track Paper Romance and will be playing two west coast dates with the electro DJ duo right after SXSW.

If you're not Austin-bound this year, fear not. You can catch Fenech-Soler tomorrow night at Pianos. They go on at 11pm in the main showroom and you can read more on the event here. Also, stay tuned, because FS will be releasing their debut album later this summer!

And hey, we've got an exclusively sweet bonus for you. UK clubheads, ZX, threw us their remix of Fenech-Soler's track, L.A. Love, a 7+ minute grapple through all the killer bleeps and bloops that make us dig it oh so much. Yours, for free, below.

PS: Our pals at Too Many Sebastians just featured ZX today too. Win!

Fenech-Soler - Stop And Stare (Reset Remix)

UPDATE: No more mix from The Fur. But now we have the Reset Mix below!

Last year, we got a tasty teaser of Fenech-Soler's newest offering, Stop and Stare. We actually got in a bit of hot water for hosting the track prior to a proper release (hence the stream here), thanks to a defunct PR outlet...grrrr. Never the mind, though, because we have a fresh new fix, worthy of all ears.

Hot remixing up-and-comers, The Fur, hit us in all the right spots this morning with their remix of the UK band's infectious foot stomper. Taking the track to a 6+ minute mark of cool, the hairy hands of this production team scored a winner with this remix.

Stop and Stare is out via Moda in April.

Not much else to say...we're too busy playing this for the 6, no, 7th time in a row now.

Marina and The Diamonds - Hollywood (Gonzales Classical Rework)

Pitting a pretty beauty with a beast of a pianist, the Guardian has an exclusive video of Marina and The Diamonds hooking up with the legend that is Gonzales for a classical rework of her song, Hollywood.

Go watch the gorgeousness here, and keep it locked in Beastonia for some big news re: Gonzales in the next few days. Ooooh, secrets.

Neon Gold also recently threw out a mix of Hollywood by Fenech-Soler. Yours now. Dividerline
