Kingdom Remixes MNDR and Teams Up With Electrik Red's Naomi Allen? Pearl Clutch!

Last month, the homegirl MNDR dropped onto the raddest radio show in the game, Belly of the Beast (Thursdays 8pm ET), on East Village Radio. She hinted that her single, Cut Me Out, was officially remixed by an NYC radass, and here we present you with the full on facts. It's Kingdom. And it's ah so ah good. Also... news of his new single today makes me swoon like a sweltering beast. Holy!

Kingdom, a [dance] producer renowned for his devotion to R&B, has teamed up with Naomi Allen for his next single. Allen makes up one quarter of Electrik Red, the criminally underrated US girl group whose debut album, 2009′s Dream-governed How to Be a Lady, Vol. 1, represents one of the great modern R&B full-lengths. Her and Kingdom’s collaboration is titled Take Me, and is due for release on Fool’s Gold, this coming Tuesday, July 26. On the B-side, you’ll find If You Buck, a “dreamlike crunk instrumental” built around harps and finger snaps. (via)

You can stream Take Me here or grab the MNDR mix at this link.

So much ear love right now.

Kid Sister - Kiss Kiss Kiss (free mixtape!)

You know, last year, we were really jazzed on Kid Sister's debut album, Ultraviolet, and while it hasn't gotten a lot of Beastonic play in recent months, we can however, switch gears, and get 'eared up on a new mixtape that she's dropped for free. Oh, you go, grrrrrll.

Recap: The Fool's Gold and Jelly Pool Party Was, In Fact, Not The Last One

And damn it, I'm psyched as psyched can be that we've got one more week to revel in the radness that is this summer's Jelly Pool Party events, down at the Williamsburg Waterfront. After major OSA vs Jelly eFisticuffs went down, I awakened this past Sunday morning to news that next week's Delorean and Dominique Young Unique-featuring event is back on. Hooray! But before we get too far ahead, let's take a lil' looksy at the weekend that was: rain, rum, record labels and all.

Fool's Gold had the distinguishing honor of curating the day's lineup, and what better way to do so than with a ton of their friends and, literally, family. Chromeo (half made of the other brother Macklovitch, he who heads up the label...A-Trak), Kid Sister (A's girl), The Suzan and Telephoned rounded out the bill, with deck destroyer Kingdom offering up the in-betwixt set spins.

The rain delayed everything just a smidge, but the warm confines of the All Saints Pub once again proved a proper breeding ground for afternoon shenanigans, high fives, hollering at hot contingents, and giving us good reason to smile and toss 'em back in anticipation of next week's sayonara soiree. Also, we know who that TBA guest is. You're probably going to want to be in attendance.

Full set of pictures from this past Sunday's Pool Party can be viewed here. And yeah, they're all from behind and/or in All Saints cause I didnt feel like getting dropped on with precipitation. Baby Beast.

Scion A/V Interview with Kingdom!

Scion A/V kind of kills it on all fronts, from music, art, film and lifestyle, to the fact that's oft-now overlooked: um, yes they are still, at the heart, the spawn of a car company. So it's no surprise that the collective chooses to feature artists and DJs that (bad pun coming...) really rev my engine. Up next, and debuting right here right now, is a neat sit-down and spit with the Night Slugs via Fool's Gold via Acephale Records mixmaster, Kingdom.

In the clip below, Blu Jemz of Turntable Lab Radio interviews Kingdom and we get to learn a little more about what the disc-dude is influenced by, how rad it is to walk behind the CD-J decks with a folder of spinners, and what new releases and EPs are in the works.

Reminder: Kingdom is spinning during the Fool's Gold-curated Pool Party at the Williamsburg Waterfront on Sunday, August 22. Chooons.

Give this brand new feature a watch now!

Telephoned - Keep Their Heads Ringin' (free mixtape!)

Fool’s Gold’s dynamic duo, Telephoned, have put together a seriously kickass new mixtape, Keep Their Heads Ringin, just in time for their opening slot on Chromeo’s US tour (which kicked off this week with shows in DC and Philly, before hitting Bowery Ballroom tonight). The mixtape gives listeners a perfect taste of the new sounds that Maggie Horn and Sammy Bananas have woven into their repertoire of party starting not-quite-cover songs.

Beastly Bits #54 - Part Two

There's just been so much good to get today, that I simply must do another round of the bits.

This is a first...and definitely not something that will be frequented. Just sporadically as I see fit.

Last week, The FADER debuted a new remix of Marina and the Diamond's I Am Not a Robot. On an aside, we were just serviced it, so therefore, we pay it forward. Fool's Gold, the lovable lads and lasses from LA give the track their rubdown, and it's yours for free below.

Kate Miller-Heidke is playing a FREE show at Living Room tomorrow at 3:00pm. I suggest preparing your best "oooh my doctor just called and can fit me in" sort of excuse if you find yourself at a day job at that time. I might be doing the same. More details on the gig here.

The Return of Rococo party is back! This Saturday, April 17 at teneleven, the wildest baroque bash since the guillotine came down will pop off...complete with themed music, burlesque, fire dancing, live art and more. Pics from the last party can be viewed here, and details on the event are at this link.

Simply put...this track rules. MoonRunners sample Daft Punk's Around the World and churn out a fresh new fix titled Feels Like Magic. Oh yes it sounds like it too. Yours, for free, below.

Florence + the Machine take on Mario Winans' I Don't Wanna Know. Tastes Like Caramel's got the goods...so go check it out here. Major swoon worthy!

Beastly Bits #49

Today's bits (and subsequent posts) are slightly differerent than normal (read = quick and to the point). I'm working a half day today (oh hello, Good Friday observance at the day job), so I gotta do something to get out the most info possible in a shortened set of time.

There's no complaints on my end for the early out today...here's to hoping you'll have none either. Also, it's going to be nearly 70 degrees in NYC today. Grin and win!
