Late last year, I was introduced to Gramophonedzie, also known as Serbian based DJ and producer, Marko Milicevic. Respect, my fellow Serb! Yes, I'm only like one-quarter of the heritage, but I'll use any excuse to rep some ethnic-cred.
Marko has performed alongside Basement Jaxx, Roger Sanchez, Bob Sinclar and David Morales, so his impressive repertoire precedes him. We're taking a look and listen at the track Why Don't You, an homage to both large housey records, as well as using a sample from Peggy Lee's Why Don't You Do Right.
I'm loving everything about this track, which for me, honors the early radness of Jaxx while maintaining a modern-day mindset. The video? Equally as impressive. Watch the utterly cool throw-down below.
