Penguin Prison Mixes Peñate (and new song!)
If it seems like each week there is a new piece of heat I'm featuring, courtesy of Penguin Prison, then you're darn sure right there is! Thankfully, I slept on last week's edition, so to combat my laziness, there are two new bits of beauteous beastliness in store today.
First up, Penguin Prison (aka Chris Glover) inhales a Jack Penate track and exhales a breath of fresh air that encompasses the original. Glover's spin on the London lad's So Near is a tidy lesson in minimalistic magic. With a sprinkling of "slow-downs" and sparkly undertones, the icy-cool NYCer makes us fall for a tune we loved in its original state. Now we lust even more for it.
In addition to finely crafting some of the best mixes that 2010 has seen thus far (see: Ellie Goulding's Starry Eyed remix featuring Theophilus London), Glover also continues to turn out a stellar dose of his own innovative material.
We're pumped to bestow Something I'm Not upon you. Firstly, because it's been on repeat here in Beastonia for the past week. And secondly, because it sounds in part, to be influenced by Mr. Mister's Broken Wings, a fact that I'm 100% ok with.
