Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers (Dave Sitek Remix)

Pairing some instant Doors-ian sounds (they don't last long, but something about the opening sequence screams Morrison to me) with Daptones-esque horns, Maximum Balloon and TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek pumps out a jingly jangling remix of Lykke Li's I Follow Rivers. It also sounds like elements pulled from The xx at times. In other words, so good.

So, in short, we'll simply say it's Beaston approved.

Lykke Li's Wounded Rhymes is out March 2 in Sweden. And on some other day in the US. (ok, it's March 1)

Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers (new single) and The Magician Remixes Said Song

I Follow Rivers is the forthcoming single off of Lykke Li's highly anticipated sophomore album. She's already performed the track live at a number of venues, including at NYC's le poisson rouge last month, and now you can hear the full version, along with an official remix from The Magician, who has basically been blowing my gaskets off with his stellar touch.

1. You are welcome.

2. Oh yeah.

Lykke Li - Get Some (Beck Remix)

Oh well happy Sunday morning to you too, Lykke Li... and Beck. After hearing the masterfully crafted 808 mix of the Swedish singers' new single, Get Some, by mic fiend Mike D, it was only a matter of time before we could 'ear the Odeladian's take on the same track.

Crunchy guitars and marching line drum beats perforate the original tune, and yep, we're shouting it out now, that this fix...

...is Beaston approved.

Lykke Li - Get Some (new single)

Is that a loose Lust For Life sample that Lykke Li is using in her new single, Get Some? Also, does she say "I'm your prostitute"? Either way...um, YAY new Lykke Li music!

I will write more later...maybe.

Little Majorette - London

Sa sa sa-weet Swedish songwriting on this gorgeous NYC morning! Little Majorette are a name I'd heard floating around over the past year or so, but had never taken the time to fully ear up on. And sha sha sha shame on me for claiming ignorance, because quirky arrangements like the ones we're about to hear should not go unnoticed. Let's drum up some love!

Little majorette

Zoe Durrant, Petter Winnberg and Nils Tornqvist make up the trio, and each are already well admired within their respective music scenes. Zoe has recorded with Sneaker Pimps. Petter and Nils work side by side in the touring ensemble for Miike Snow, for whom Little Majorette was the opening act on their Swedish tour. Other side projects include Winnberg producing Fibes Oh Fibes and Tornqvist drumming for Lykke Li. Just. Yes. AWESOME.

LM's debut single, Bite the Bullet, was a huge hit in Sweden over the summer. You can watch the video for that track here. Or you can grab follow up track, London, which is found on the single EP as well. We've got the Dinamarca Remix of the song to hit you with too.

The original is a short and slick slice of fun. When the arrangement switches up at the :22 second mark, hold on to your hats. So much radness!

Lykke Li - Possibility (live video!)

Shame, shame, shame on me. In the post-SXSW hubbub and craziness, I completely overlooked this video footage of Lykke Li performing her Twilight soundtrack-worthy track, Possibility. Never the mind though, because slow and steady...she wins the race, eh?

Dudes, when I say she brings something forth with her voice...I literally mean she is channeling some other world entities like whoa. Hauntingly great.

Now when are we getting a new album, dear?
