Sometimes, when my brother gets really excited, he expresses that in his tweets and writings, by simply "keysmashing" the letters on his computer or mobile device. Taking cue from him: DHN3O KJ;;cdw23ciDSDa7egbdsdGSDGV, or in human-speak,"Noble beasts, thineself requests your ears to feast upon the self-titled offering from sirs Azari & III, applicably available to stream whenceforth as below."SO RAD.
After a leak and some delays and some hullaballoo surrounding the imepndingly fantastic debut offering from Monarchy, we're pretty pumped as pumped could be to let you know that you can pre-order the release now. It's called Around the Sun and your advance "oooh I want it" link is here. In the meantime, listen to a new song, Jealous Guy, below in the player.
Also, something of note: Maybe I'm Crazy is the next single, and it's got a remix from Azari & III which is sure to whet my waiting whistle. Additionally, I had Monarchy call into EVR's Belly of the Beast earlier this year. Listen to said chat right here, ok.
OMG ITS RAINING CUPCAKES! Um, hello, dreams do come true... at least in the new video for Monarchy's most amazing single, I Won't Let Go. If this wasn't already one of our favorite songs of the year, then this clip just solidifed it. So instead of writing more, I'll simply paste the lyrics to the song below the image, because, well... they are super. Watch the vid after that then, yeah?
I watch you from afar Can't reach your burning star Still I will to keep you safe in my sight I know we hardly speak But your words I can complete I have built you up too high to talk you down
And I won't let go I won't let go of you There's no limit to my love No limit to my love I won't let go my love
Can't step over the line And you don't give me any sign So I will take a deep breath and rise up I live unnaturally Half with you half with me All my words lay wasted at your feet
Can't you see I'm waiting for you to come back to me I never left you only you can choose whatyou wanna see What can I do I'm still in love with you
I love Kylie Minogue and I love Monarchy. So it's kind of a no brainer that I love the latter's mix of the former's current single, Better Than Today. Jump down the wormhole and wiggle around to this sexy mix.
Yes, yes, yes, please and thank you very much, good sir! Jamiroquai's latest single, White Knuckle Ride, sat in the meh-ddle of the road for me in terms of listening and loving (in original form), however when we got those Penguin Prison and Monarchy remixes a few weeks prior, well, shit got turned up to 11.
Today, we revisit the song, thanks to Alan Braxe and his sexy lil' fix of the track. Subdued and sublime disco...just as expected.
What a way to start this gorgeous Friday morning! The weather is absolutely bananas beautiful in NYC, and the temperature is starting to rise thanks to two remixes of Jamiroquai's newest cut, White Knuckle Ride. The original song will be included on the band's forthcoming seventh studio album, Rock Dust Light Star, which will see a proper release in November (at least in the UK, while we still await the US out date).
As mentioned, the new song is floating around in a few different iterations, but today, I'm on the edge of my seat with anticipation because I simply cannot wait for you to grab these two fine fixes. Coming courtesy of two of my most favorite "newer-ish" beasts of approval, Penguin Prison and Monarchy handle the remixing reigns, and they do it with class, finesse, and disco pop beats for days.
They are both free for you and me. They are both delicious and yummy. They are the hotness!
It's happening in 2011, if we're to go by twitter as the bible of the blogiverse. Moshi Moshi's newest signee, Hot City, also contribute an official remix to Robyn's Hang With Me package, which will see a release on August 16. Until then, salivate and wait.
After quite the lengthy post title as above, seems like there's really no need for more words to be spewn in praise of Monarchy and all that they've been up to as of late. However, I've been waiting for a good chock of days to finally get all the info needed here to properly write this up...so blam blam blam...and away we go!
Last week, as part of the Strangers in Stereo blog collective (which I'm amped to be a part of since its inception) and our weekly feature "Now Playing", Monarchy took my top spot for most played artist/song thanks to Love Get Out Of My Way, and its respective remixes, which will see an official release on August 30 (pre-order here). Mixes come from Sinden, Tim Goldsworthy, Holy Ghost!, Treasure Fingers and Benny Benassi. The TG Dub is free to download below and you can hear the Benny treatment here. Rest assure, the remaining fixes are equally awesome, but being the obedient (and selfish) beast that I am, both cannot and will not post.
Additionally, the official video for LGOOMY has been released. Watch it below. But then don't stray too far, cause I'm writing more stuff, so yeah...pay attention, please and thank you.
Before letting you run off and dance to their killer cuts, a most beastly piece of news action from the Monarchy mates needs to be dropped. On Saturday, June 19, the lads held their debut live show, at the Kennedy Space Center, in Cape Canaveral, FL. The performance came in front of roughly twenty people, and was also the first live show to be broadcast into space. Neato!
You can watch a mini-documentary from the event below.
If you can't tell, I'm just a LITTLE bit excited for what these dudes have in store. Yep.
This is definitely a multi-purpose post, and thanks to rad-man, Bxentric, we only need to have writ up this one piece. Why, you ask? See, I've been on a bender lately. A music bender in which nearly every other song I press play for results in his mix of Flight Facilities' Crave You blasting through my headphones. Best addiction to have. Truth.
So that led me to today's "diggings" for more from the UK mix-master, resulting in an almost hour-long mix he put together of some of the best new, official, and as of yet unheard remixes of your favorite songs.
Within the mix, he's got Russ Chimes' official hit of Mark Ronson's Bang Bang Bang (I DIE), along with DFA-dude Tim Goldsworthy's rub up of Monarchy's Love Get Out Of My Way that makes me want to cry because it is 100% perfection in every way. Other bits we love include the Villa mix of Ali Love, some Munk, Mano and Breakbot. Hell, lemme just give you the full track list, then stream the mix. Ultimately, scroll all the ways down for a special treat that kind of brings this all full circle.
1. Mano Le Tough - Eurodancer (Tensnake Remix) 2. Roy Davis Jr - Rocklights (Mighty Mouse Remix) 3. Bottin - Disco For The Devil (Telonious Remix) 4. Voltage - All Night (Azari & III Remix) 5. Diskjokke - 1987 (Dreamtrak Remix) 6. Mark Ronson - Bang Bang Bang (Russ Chimes Remix) 7. Ali Love - Smoke and Mirrors (Villa Remix) 8. Munk - La Musica (Tiago Remix) 9. Monarchy - Love Get Out Of My Way (Tim Goldsworthy Remix) 10. Breakbot - Baby I'm Yours (Aeroplane Remix)
And now, for your enjoyment...the shortest post ever.
Simply because when I posted this earlier this week, it was a shoddy radio rip. Time to get funky proper with the leading candidate for remix of the year. Monarchy's Love Get Out of My Way will be released on July 26.
