Rubix: Remix, Video and Mixtape

Rubix is quickly becoming one of my favorite DJ/producers to go to in a pinch. The Amsterdamian dude popped into our world with a neat "self-mix" of his own tune last year, and that's history folks. Catch my ear within the first 5 seconds of a track, and I'm good as yours forever.

 

About two weeks ago, Rubix hit us up with his new track, Disco Electronique, which in the name alone is a beautiful sight. And then in playing the cut, we got all sorts of sweaty and slamming dancing to this fresh and funky tune. Big ups! Remixes come from Jeff Doubleu and Lex Chauve, along with Rubix's own fix of the original. Stream 'em all here, buy the full EP at this link, and then jump way down for a free download.

Hey, we're nowhere near done yet, because Rubix has just finished a new mixtape. Vruchtvlees Couture Mixtape No. 7 features a number of his own mixes, including his brand spankin' new fix of Don Diablo's Who's Your Daddy. I'm super psyched to be digging on this today...lots of rad slices within.

Kids, February is treating my insanely busy and beastly mind ever so well. After a slow start to the year (what, everyone decided to take an extended XMas break?), the big tracks and tunes are flowing in with knife-like precision. After yesterday's outpouring of love, we continue on in swoon-mode with a visit from our pal, Rubix.

 

I first caught wind of the Amsterdam DJ early in December, when he swung through with a major rub of his own track. Seems like the big dogs are also catching on, as Bart B More's enlisted his services for a remix of his song, Romane, which will see a proper EP release on February 23 through Sound Pellegrino. 

Rubix jumps into a gypsy caravan of coolness with his fix of the already immensely-massive tune. The horns and beats compliment the original so well, and just when you think he can't top himself, this cool cat slows it down only to bring you back up with a fistful of righteous stomps.
