Kid Sister: Repping Bud Light Lime and She's One of the "TBA" Artists for The Pool Parties

'Tis true! And I have no video evidence to prove the first half of this mystery-revealing post. Stellar reporting here, really. But I can offer this piece of proof that occurred during last evening's television time in Beastonia. Also, her producer confirmed it here, so facts are facts: Santigold's Lights Out has FINALLY been ousted by Kid Sister's Daydreaming as the official song to soundtrack the national campaign for Bud Light Lime. Love both you ladies...still hate the beer.

Naturally, once video is uploaded from somewheres, I'll re-visit this post and freshen it up with the clip.

Now for the second piece of information: when Jelly announced their Pool Parties lineup, a number of TBA acts filled the bills. Doing some Sherlock-spyglass-detective work centering around the August 22 event, we can conclude that KS will be performing at the Williamsburg Waterfront. How so?

As of now, the lineup for that date still reads as: Chromeo, TBA, The Suzan, Telephoned. Now if you you go to Sis' site, scroll down to "tour dates", and yep, she's on the docket. Super sleuthy, eh? FYI, she's also pals with all those artists, so it was kind of an obvious TBA mystery. Ta-dah!

Broken Bells - The Ghost Inside (new video!)

Last week, there were rumbings about Broken Bells' next and new video for The Ghost Inside. Word had it that Mad Men star, Christina Hendricks, would appear in the clip as a fiery and futrusitc android woman. All the former is true as true can be, because the video is out now, and good on it's word, the rad redhead pops up and "pops off" in the footage.

The clip is not officially out on Vevo until tomorrow, however, it's out on iTunes and The Guardian has also copped first rights to the clip.

Good thing too...cause we were kind of dying to see some cyborg disassemblings this morning. Color us machine-bot masochists.

Watch it now. Gosh, this song just keeps getting better with every listen and view.

David Byrne and Fatboy Slim (featuring Santigold) - Please Don't

Hotly-tipped to ignite a warm fire during these chilling winter months is the unique project between David Byrne and Fatboy Slim. Here Lies Love is upcoming concept album slated for release on February 23 about the life of the former First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos and her relationship with a servant from her childhood.

The album features 22 guest vocalists and will be released as a double-CD set with DVD and 100-page book. The entire compilation is set-up as a cycle of songs, with a prologue and four "acts".

Byrne says: “The story I am interested in is about asking what drives a powerful person—what makes them tick? How do they make and then remake themselves? I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be great if—as this piece would be principally composed of clubby dance music—one could experience it in a club setting? Could one bring a ‘story’ and a kind of theater to the disco? Was that possible? If so, wouldn’t that be amazing!” Scene structure is as follows: Prologue: "Here Lies Love" (feat. Florence Welch) Act I: "Flashback — Early Days" "Every Drop of Rain" (feat. Candie Payne & St. Vincent) "You'll Be Taken Care Of"(feat. Tori Amos) "The Rose of Tacloban" (feat. Martha Wainwright) "How Are You?" (feat. Nellie McKay) "A Perfect Hand" (feat. Steve Earle) "Eleven Days" (feat. Cyndi Lauper) Act II: "The Climb to Power" "Walk Like a Woman" (feat. Charmaine Clamor) "Don't You Agree?" (feat. Róisín Murphy) "Ladies in Blue" (feat. Theresa Andersson) "When She Passed By" (feat. Allison Moorer) "A Pretty Face" (feat. Camille) "The Whole Man" (feat. Kate Pierson) "American Troglodyte" "Dancing Together" (feat. Sharon Jones) Act III: "The Turning Point" "Men Will Do Anything" (feat. Alice Russell) "Never So Big" (feat. Sia) "Please Don't" (feat. Santigold) Act IV: "The Fall" "Solano Avenue" (feat. Nicole Atkins) "Seven Years" (feat. Shara Worden) "Order 1081" (feat. Natalie Merchant) "Why Don't You Love Me?" (feat. Cyndi Lauper & Tori Amos) "Here Lies Love" (Reprise) Pre-ordering info for Here Lies Love can be found here. All pre-purchases receive an immediate download of the Please Don't, which features vocals by Santigold.

Beastly Bits #2

I actually had this drafted and posted three (yes 3!) times yesterday, but some faulty tech issues had me scrap it all and starting over again today. Let's roll.

Breakfast is served. And it's super beefy, because both yesterday and today's bits are included.

Third Man Records will release 2 new Wanda Jackson singles; the first will be a cover of Amy Winehouse's You Know I'm No Good. Jackson plays Brooklyn's Knitting Factory on February 11. Tickets here.

If you fancy yourself down under on Sunday, January 10, then I recommend you check out the Days Like This! festival. The lineup is massive and tickets are still available here.

Musician Kenna has developed the Summit on the Summit program, an initiative that strikes awareness on the clean water crisis. Artists and actors will climb Mt Kilimanjaro to raise funds. Santigold started her trek yesterday...follow her progress here.

Avian X unleashed a new remix of her 2009 hit, Dark Circles. The fix comes from Josh Harris and is available as a free download below.

LA-based electro doo-hop trio, Hyper Crush, are currently in the studio. Watch them in action here.

Last week, I exclusively debuted a new My Gold Mask track, which can be found on their stunning new EP, A Thousand Voices. Stream or download the release in full over here.

Want to win tickets to see Zambri, MNDR and Tayisha Busay at Glasslands on January 21? Enter here.

Ellie Goulding wins the BBC Sound of 2010 honor. No surprise here, but most well deserved.

The enigmatic YouTube user, iamamiwhoami, sprung forth with 2 viral videos yesterday. Some say it's an album teaser for Goldfrapp or Christina Aguilera. Either way, my interest is piqued! Watch the stunning clips here.

Check out a video of Ian McCulloch in the East Village Radio studio with Mark Ronson from the night I hosted back in December. Special intro by yours truly. Watch here.
