Be[a]st Remixes (Snoop, M.I.A., Gaga, etc...)

Much like the last Be[a]st Remixes installment, it's come to that time when the inbox needs a proper sorting out and this is the perfect way to go about doing so.

First up, our pals The Fur tackle Snoop Dogg and Cudi's That Tree. Highly listenable, even more-so than the original, in my honest opinion.

The Sound of Arrows haven;t been in hiding. No, they've simply been in the lab working on this mix of Lady Gaga's Alejandro. Look past her lackluster performance of the song on last night's American Idol and simply groove out to this dreamy dish.

Mad Decent homeboy, High Contrast, eats up M.I.A.'s Born Free and spits out a drummier surfed out mix of the song. Nice option to the original.

Two neato drops on Penguin Prison tracks for you. 1-O.A.K. handles Something I'm Not, while Shook jumps on The Worse it Gets. Both worthy of your time and your ears.

Beastly Bits #51

Do you ever wake up from a dream and you find yourself singing a song as you arise? It's been happening a lot to me lately, and there are no complaints. So when we do wake up, we like to share what's got us night grooving.

And of course, all the tunes that are making us move during the day.

Charismatic Bloc Party frontman, Kele Okereke, announced that he'll be releasing a solo dance album, The Boxer. The 10 track project is slated for a UK release through Wichita/Polydor on the June 21. Track list and more info here.

Local Natives announced a summer NYC show on Governor's Island. Perfect, in case you missed snagging a ticket for their upcoming sold-out Bowery Ballroom gig in a month. Tickets for the August 7 show go on sale this Friday April 9 here.

Snoop Dogg and Cypress Hill sit down and interview each other in the new MySpace feature, Artist on Artist. Check it out here.

Kelis hit up the Jimmy Kimmel Show last night and rocked the crowd with a live performance of Acapella. Watch the clip at this link.

A new Mr. Vega track hit us like a ton of the raddest bricks ever. Forgoing his signature sound, our pal pumps up the disco beat and has us making moves in the office this morning. Download I'm Crazy Baby for free below.

Snoop Dogg, Mia X, Fiend, C-Murder, Silkk The Shocker, Mystikal and Goldie Loc - Ghetto Symphony

Sure this song is over a decade old, but sometimes I just have to take a moment to appreciate a tune that's rocked my body for that amount of time. Snoop Dogg's Ghetto Symphony appeared on the rapper's 4th studio album, the first of which he let out on his own Doggystyle label.

Ghetto Symphony features 6 of Snoop's pals in a succession of rap royalty that seems to get better with each verse. But why the heck did I choose to feature this oldie, but goodie, today?

Given the recent influx of female rappers who are legitimately doing all sorts of rad things (see: Nicki Minaj, Dominque Young Unique, Trina, etc...) I was momentarily transported to a time when the chick spit game was at an equally relevant high. Mary J was doing her thing, Eve was busting out, and yeah, ol' girl Missy Misdemeanor had a string of successes. Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim...no questions asked.

But it was Mia X with one verse (the kickoff lick, no less), found on this track that got me excited...and still does to this day.

Hell...I still know every word to this jam. Dude verses included. Grab it below.
