Earlier this month, I dropped some hot info that I'm in cahoots with HP and Beats by Dr. Dre, and while I'm reaping a lot of the benefits of a sweet new system and headphones (yeah, shameless plug here again), I also mentioned that you lucky little beasts would be privy to get in on the action too. Here's the first round of radness, and yo, it's a good one.

The Levi's brand continues in its tradition of bringing great jeans and great music together with today's launch of Levi's Pioneer Sessions, a new campaign that champions musical artists who embody the pioneering spirit of the Levi's brand. An original series of musical recordings by a diverse roster of talented musicians, the slate features remakes of hits from past decades inspired by renowned artists.

First up is Nas' take on Slick Rick's Hey Young World, while The Swell Season's rendition of the 70s disco hit, Young Hearts Run Free by Candi Staton will be let loose on Thursday May 27. Details regarding the remaining artists, Passion Pit and The Kills, and their song choices will complete the current roster of releases and be announced in the weeks to come.

Here's the tracks to look forward to. I'm most psyched to hear

Suzanne Vega & The Roots - Tom's Diner (video)

Did that post title just blow your mind? Even before I could hit play on this (thanks Emma), I knew I'd be gathering chunks of my own cranial crevasse from the floor. Last night, Suzanne Vega dropped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. She's on a promo tour in support of her new album, Suzanne Vega Close-Up Vol. 1: Love Songs, and she sang Caramel from said release. The web-only exclusive, however, is where the getting gets good.

If you'd like to see Suzanne get rad with her take on Caramel, you can watch the clip, as it appeared on the last night's late evening show, but. I'd encourage you to start with the below though. I mean, it's Suzanne Vega...and The Roots...doing Tom's Diner. It really doesn't get much better than that.

The Roots to Release 9th Studio Album on June 8

The Roots have revealed that their forthcoming studio album, How I Got Over, will be released on June 8. The band's drummer and DJ, Questlove, posted the release date via his twitter account. Aaahh, the power of our bird-friendly connector!

Further details of the album, which will be the band's first since 2008's Rising Down, are forthcoming, although How I Got Over will have political influences, like the presidencies of George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Among the tracks expected to make the cut are Walk Alone, a vintage R&B-leaning Make a Move, The Day featuring Icelandic vocalist Patty Crash and a cover of Frank Zappa's instrumental classic Peaches en Regalia. The album is also expected to include a version of Cody Chesnutt's Serve This Royalty. The title track was let out last year.

Additionally, the band have also started work on a new album with Booker T, and is expected to feature a slew of guest vocalists.
