The Shins - Goodbye Girl (Squeeze Cover)

We're about halfway through revealing the cover songs done up by well-known artists for Levi's Pioneer Sessions. Ready for today's installment? Quickest post ever, and go!

The Shins wrangled James Mercer away from Broken Bells long enough to regroup and take on Squeeze's Goodbye Girl. It sounds like The Shins doing Squeeze's Goodybye Girl.

I told you I'd be writing these posts like that from now on.

Watch a behind the scenes video with Mr. Mercer below.

Broken Bells - The Ghost Inside (new video!)

Last week, there were rumbings about Broken Bells' next and new video for The Ghost Inside. Word had it that Mad Men star, Christina Hendricks, would appear in the clip as a fiery and futrusitc android woman. All the former is true as true can be, because the video is out now, and good on it's word, the rad redhead pops up and "pops off" in the footage.

The clip is not officially out on Vevo until tomorrow, however, it's out on iTunes and The Guardian has also copped first rights to the clip.

Good thing too...cause we were kind of dying to see some cyborg disassemblings this morning. Color us machine-bot masochists.

Watch it now. Gosh, this song just keeps getting better with every listen and view.

Broken Bells - Amplified (behind the band video!)

Want to know the story behind the unlikely collaboration between James Mercer of The Shins and the producer Danger Mouse? Their Broken Bells project is one we've had a close eye on for a while, but this new video delves a little deeper into how they came together and what plans they have for the future.

In the below video, shot exclusively for ABC and their new Amplified series, here's the story behind a not-so-obvious musical partnership between James and Danger, from how they met, how they worked and lived together off and on for a year and how they kept the whole thing secret the whole time.

Also: what it means for the Shins. Watch now.
